Riccardo Soldan (he/his)

Riccardo did his Bachelor in Agricultural Science and Master in Crop and Plant Science before moving into the field of microbial ecology and applied microbiology. Riccardo worked and studied in several universities, including KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), Justus-Liebig University, and The Sainsbury Laboratory. 

During his Ph.D at the University of Oxford, Riccardo worked on understanding the effect of plant domestication on plant microbiome, conceptually, through the development of evolutionary theories, and practically, through research studies. 

Riccardo also led the development of new molecular toolboxes that can be used to monitor bacterial localization in plants as well as the effect of plant immunity on bacterial viability. 

Riccardo is now a visiting research scientist at the University of Oxford and works for the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations as a Climate Risks and Data specialist.
