Brett Wadley

I am a first year DPhil student on the Interdisciplinary Bioscience Doctoral Training Programme, supervised by Gail Preston and Maddy Seale.

My research focuses on the interaction between pathogens and their plant hosts at the cell wall. I’m currently working to apply novel approaches to investigate how the biophysical properties of the cell wall are modified during plant-pathogen interactions, and to understand how mechanical signals detected at the cell wall activate plant defence responses.

Outside of the lab I enjoy hiking, running and being outdoors.
